It's Not Just Ma Bell Anymore
When I setup my first home office
twenty years ago, the
telephone issue was fairly simple. I needed a second
line, so I called NJ Bell, and that was that. Options
for local service providers,
were non-existent. Options for
long distance service
were almost non-existent.
Cellular and
VoIP were non-existent.
You can still just call the local phone company for
everything, but for many of us, that's not the smart
move.
The simplicity, inflexibility, and high cost
of bygone days, has been replaced by an almost limitless
array of choices resulting in great flexibility, and
lower costs, but at the cost of a more complex world to
navigate through. Understanding the difference between
unlimited long distance,
discount long distance,
and flat-rate long distance
is the key to selecting long
distance service. Big companies have whole departments
dedicated to providing the best solutions to their
organizations. Prior to today the
home office worker only had themselves & maybe the opinions of a few
friends to look to help them in this brave new world.
That's were we come in.
AP - Wearing a flag lapel pin, Sen. Barack Obama emphasized his patriotism and support for a strong and humane military Monday, while Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton implored West Virginians to sustain her hopes of somehow denying him the Democratic presidential nomination.
AP - The Democratic presidential race runs on two tracks now, one snaking through the West Virginia primary Tuesday and the other mapped out by Barack Obama through battleground states in the fall.
AP - Barack Obama's wave of superdelegate endorsements puts him within reach of the Democratic presidential nomination by the end of the primary season on June 3 — even if he loses half of the remaining six contests.
