Case Study - Floyd's Office
Floyd had enough, another lousy winter of snow,
slush, and 2 hour commutes. So he decided to
set-up a home office in the spare bedroom and work from
home on bad weather days. His boss also told him
it would be OK to work from his house a couple of days a
week. Floyd's house had two
local phone service
lines, the house line, and one for internet dial-up.
Floyd's work involves a lot of long distance phone
calling so he decided to check out adding an additional
local phone service line
with an unlimited long distance calling plan.
Floyd checked out the offerings of 3 local phone
service providers... Talk America, MCI, and Verizon and
found the following comparison:

MCI – The Neighborhood |
Verizon – Freedom Plan |

Floyd was extremely happy, because his existing local
phone service number was already costing him $24.95 per
month, it didn't have any features, and he war paying
$.05/minute for long distance, and $.097/minute for
IntraLata (or In-state long distance) calls.
Floyd decided to go with the Talk America Service.
He felt it gave him the most bang for his buck.
Floyd really likes the unlimited aspects of the plan, so
he doesn't have to 'watch the minutes.'
